004: the fourth day of being popular
In a happy mood, Yao Bianliang briefly checked the situation of group No. 10. The director, Cheng Liuhui, was an anonymous little transparent director, and several other actors were also unknown.
The documents sent by her roommate were very detailed. In addition to the outline of the short play, they also sent the script and related introductions.
The full script of "To Our Youth" had only 8,000 words, and it would be finished after reading a few pages.
Although the length was short, Yao Bianliang almost fell asleep after reading the whole story.
--so boring.
She had never read such a boring script.
In other drama, the male and female protagonists were ignorant of their secret love and mutual affection;
in this drama, the heroine was immersed in learning.
In other drama, the male and female protagonists began to have an affair, and the lines made people blush;
in this drama, the heroine was still immersed in learning.
In other drama, the male and female protagonists had already begun to interact intimately, and the audience was addicted to candy.
and in this drama, the heroine was still immersed in learning!
From the beginning to the end, the heroine's daily routine was to attend classes, did homework, and memorized some knowledge points.
There were dozens of students in class, none of whom were in love, and only knew how to study hard every day.
It was so boring that it was impossible to be viral!
How could there be audiences who would like to watch this kind of plot?
"Cheng Liuhui is indeed a genius director." Yao Bianliang couldn't help but sigh with emotion.
Just imagine, when the audience sees "To Our Youth", they would subconsciously think that this was a youth romance drama.
As a result, they clicked in and took a look, and found that there was no male lead in this play at all.
This alone could dissuade 80% of the audience.
If the rest of the audience didn't leave they would see the heroine studying hard and thought it was an inspirational youth drama.
After they watched the heroine doing and making homework every day; brushing test papers, taking exams...
Struggling hard, and finally made it to the finale. Everyone expected the heroine to reach the pinnacle of life.
In the end, the heroine was still an ordinary person!
Although she could find a good job with this degree, she was still a social animal.
She was forced to work overtime, deal with various interpersonal relationships, and occasionally be criticized by the leader.
She was no different from thousands of ordinary migrant workers.
After such an operation, the audience should be aggrieved to death, right?
Moreover, at the end of the script, the director also made notes on the script.
"This drama aims to capture the youth of ordinary people, so the heroine needs to be ordinary."
In layman's terms, it was to pretend to be ugly.
Yao Bianliang was determined to choose this script, and the corners of her lips raised slightly: "It's good this time."
Without any further hesitation, she directly sent a friend request to Cheng Liuhui.
With this rare talent, she was sure to make friends!
—————In the practice hall.
Cheng Liuhui sat on the chair, his handsome face with sharp edges showed a bit of fatigue.
The sun light came in from the window and fell on him, leaving a shadow.
"No one is willing to come."
He gently picked up the script on the table with his slender fingers, and a wry smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
There were only two days left until the filming of the "Good Drama PK Competition" variety show starts.
The team formation session was coming to an end, and other teams had already selected members, but he hadn't even found a heroine.
At present, apart from him in group No. 10, there was only one friend who came to support him, and an unknown newcomer Xiao Zhengtai.
Such a lineup could be described as extremely shabby.
The friend stood beside him, frowning slightly: "What did Yao Xinxin say, is she willing to join?"
Cheng Liuhui lowered his eyes and said sadly: "I just said a few words, and she interrupted me directly. The call is cut."
"Besides, she has already joined group No. 2, and she has a bright future, so I'm afraid she won't like a small script like mine."
The friend was not surprised when he heard this.
He was just a little helpless: "I said a long time ago that no idol is willing to destroy their image. What's more, this is a talent show. People rely on their faces to make a living. If you let the heroine dress up like that, isn't it a waste of people's times?"
Cheng Liuhui pursed his thin lips tightly, did not speak, but looked more and more lonely.
"There is almost no market for youth dramas that do not fall in love, so why do you have to make trouble for yourself?"
The friend persuaded earnestly, "Stop going to a dead end and change the theme. I believe that with your ability, you can change it to a sweet youth drama. And it will definitely succeed."
Cheng Liuhui lowered his eyes, his eyelashes trembling slightly, unable to hide his inner struggle.
Really...was there no other way?
He just wanted to make a youth drama that belongs to ordinary people, was it so difficult?
"I don't understand," Cheng Liuhui said, "Youth dramas can only shoot love stories? Those nights when students worked hard on the questions, and those accumulated piles of teaching materials, why don't you consider that as youth?"
Cheng Liuhui really thought so.
He raised his eyes and looked at his friend seriously: "Now, whenever we talk about youth dramas, we will subconsciously think of first love."
"But I believe that the vast majority of people have never experienced delivering love letters, sending flowers, or confessing in the rain. Our youth is very ordinary. "
"I just wanted to take pictures of such youth. What's wrong with that?"

Personally, I hate reading romance stories. It’s such an oversaturated market and I avoid them like I do Covid. I could chance on it and enjoy the time to myself and feel shitty at moments, but helll to the no if you think I’m knowing going somewhere it’s present.
HOWEVER, I doubt any potential the script has. The MC stated they could barely get through it.. as an expert.. End of discussion.
